SDIP-Extension SDIP-E : Incentivizes Sailors to voluntarily extend their sea duty assignments on board their current sea duty command when assigned to ships, submarines, or aviation squadrons for rotational purposes by a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 48 months.
SDIP-Curtailment SDIP-C : Aims at incentivizing Sailors to voluntarily curtail their shore duty assignments a minimum of six months prior to their original PRD, and return to sea duty assignments on a ship, submarine, or at an aviation squadron for a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 48 months, based upon DOD Area or minimum activity tour length. SDAs involve demanding duties requiring extraordinary effort for satisfactory performance or an unusual degree of responsibility in the accomplishment of assigned duties.

In general, sailors can expect to earn half of their Navy Selective Reenlistment Bonus immediately upon renewing a service contract. Sailors are locked into the bonus pay amount that is agreed upon in the contract yet these terms are always subject to change. Thus, if you are seriously considering reenlisting in the U. Any request failing to prescreen will be rejected and a message will be sent to the command. A best practice is to view the status of the request in BOL two to three workdays after submission.
A valid request should reflect a pending SRB for the date requested, and the total award should match the expectations of the requestor.
